I am Assistant Professor in Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. I studied History and Archaeology, I hold a Master of Arts in History, a Phd and Post-doc in Literature for children and young adults and I am a tutor for adults, cerified from the National Organisation for the Certification of Qualifications and Vocational Guidance. I have 13 year of experience in helping children and adults to learn Greek through specialized courses and to get acquainted with the Greek Culture (Literature, Ancient Greek Mythology, History, Conversational Greek, Walking Greek Lessons, Greek Poems and other interesting ways for practice, such as visits to the museums and cultural sites of Thessaloniki). I prepare people for exams in the Greek Language-Ellinomatheia levels from A1-C2 and help them to obtain the Certificates from A1-C2 level by the Greek Ministry of Education.My aim is also to help and keep my students motivated and more enthusiastic about the Greek language, etymology, History and culture, make them able to communicate in Greek and introduce them to the Greek habits and traditions.

Associate professor of Grammar (= Classical letters with an ancient linguistic emphasis), doctor in Comparative Literature (Paris IV-Sorbonne), gives courses for aggregators (internal or external competition), on the Greek part of the program: -Homer, Iliad, IX-X -Euripides, Medea -Lysias, Discourse, “On the sacred olive tree” The other parts of the program and the Latin program can also be covered, depending on demand. I am Yongjia Yuan from China, As a Phd Candidate in SOAS. I have learned Ancient Greek for over ten years, I translated the Ancient Greek texts into Chinese for over 200k words. I have taught ancient Greek classes for over 100 hours.

My Ancient Greek class is fitting for learners at any level. Having studied Ancient Greek now for six years, not only in school but also at the Universities of Glasgow and Cambridge, I am extremely familiar with the language and its challenges. Using the Cambridge Reading Greek and Greek GCSE textbooks, adapted texts, and even "real" Greek literature where appropriate, I envisage Greek teaching and tutoring that focusses on the necessary aspects of grammar and rote language learning but supplements them with knowledge of Ancient Greek culture, history, and literature to make the language more alive and relevant. I am well-acquainted not only with the requirements of Greek learning at school, particularly for GCSEs, but also with the expectations of university Greek courses. A beginner will come to understand the fundamentals of the language, common vocabulary, and the "philosophy" that underlies grammatical forms and syntactical structures, an intermediate learner will come to grasp the more nuanced and trickier aspects of Greek grammar and reading, and an advanced learner will find confidence in reading Greek texts "in the wild" and the fluidity of translation and interpretation.
