I graduated from Berklee College of Music in 2011, and I’ve been working as a full-time guitar instructor and music teacher for more than 15 years. I was trained in Classical Guitar, but for many years I've been teaching a wide gamma of styles, ranging from pop acoustic songs, Blues, Rock, and Metal, all the way to South-American traditional songs. Music theory course (musical training in conservatory), keyboards (piano and organ), or even musical culture, by a former student of the National Conservatory of Music and Dance of Paris, music associate (2018, rank 4), graduated in Organ and Music Training from the Regional Conservatory of Boulogne-Billancourt, Master in Music and Musicology from Paris-Sorbonne University. My recommendation for learning the Oud is to start with the study of notes and musical notation before tackling pieces. Although some students prefer to play songs directly, understanding the basics of musical notation allows for faster progress in the long run.
