About Me
As a curious and creative individual there are 2 subjects I am truly passionate about. The first is music, which I have been nurturing since I was 8 years old. The second is Physics which I studied at university. In music, I took drum lessons for 4 years followed by piano lessons for 3 years and music theory lessons for 2 years before I switched to bass guitar for 9 years (ongoing). In bass, I took additional private lessons, I played and toured with jazz ensembles, performed live music and composed originals with numerous bands in Belgium and the UK, went to music summer camps, payed for specific online bass courses and recorded a lot of originals in studios. I am currently learning to sing and playing bass professionally with Kids of The Elephants in Brussels.
In Physics, I achieved 90% at the European School of Brussels II - as well as 85% in further Maths - and completed a Masters in Physics with First Class Honours at the University of Leicester in 2021. I have studied optional modules such as Astrophysics, Space Science, Programming and Medical Physics as well as standard modules such as Electricity & Magnetism, Mechanics, Quantum Mechanics and Special Relativity. For my Masters, I wrote a fun and fascinating literature review on Gamma-Ray Bursts and Gravitational Waves and I instigated my own Masters project in Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) techniques and Aorta Phantoms due to my interest in medicine.
I am also a very sociable and empathetic person. During my studies, most of my free time consisted of playing music with numerous bands in Leicester and in Brussels. I was also the equipment & events officer for a large Band & Gigs society featuring 70 active members and regularly collaborated with other music societies (choir, big band, orchestra..). I have also worked as a student ambassador for my university (talking to parents and their children about my Physics department) and occasionally like to go rollerblading.

Excellent experience for my children, thank you Jeremy!
My son is getting private lessons in physics and math with Jeremy and we are very happy with the lessons. He is very good at explaining the subjects to my son who is benefitting a lot from the lessons. Besides being a good tutor, Jeremy is also an extremely kind and pleasant person. We can highly recommend him.
So far my 13 year old is happy after two lessons, lets see what he will be able to put into practice himself. What I do like is that Jeremy gives a feedback to me after every lesson on what did they cover; and the points to observe and gives my child the techniques to learn and memories more efficiently. The teacher is also punctual, which is always a bonus:)
Excellent teacher! Competent, patient, adapts to the level of his students. Offers all kinds of exercises and new skills to keep learning interesting and always fun. Thanks Jeremy!

SAXOPHONE LESSONS / Master's Degree in music / 5 years living and playing in New York City!Have you ever seen a saxophone and wondered how it feels to play it? It’s never too late to start! I will help you get started with the instrument. Do you already know how the instrument works? Great! Let’s take it to another level!
I have plenty of study method books with a big range of different styles, we will find the ones that you enjoy the most and suit you better and combine it in the right way, to help you improve. Plus work on any music that you personally want to learn, name any song and I will help you learn how to play it!
I myself had amazing and terrible music teachers during my learning process and believe me, I know what a difference makes... To really enjoy learning music or just to feel a ‘must study’, is the difference between ‘...I have to’ or ‘I want to!’.
I finished a Bachelor and a Master's degree in the Music Conservatory (The Hague) and then spent five years in the jazz scene in New York City, which gave me a very wide experience. Whether you are a beginner or preparing to enter a Music Conservatory, I can help you.
Classes description:
I have different study books we can use depending on the level, Wastall, Klose, Voxman, classic duets, jazz duets, Rubank, Horen, Lezen & Spelen, etc.... Plus I can write for you the songs you want to learn. If you have specific needs of topics to learn I will adapt the lesson and material to it. If what you want is to start or develop further in jazz music and/or improvisation, I’m definitely ready to help you!
Beginners:
Start finding the sound of the instrument, where the notes are within all those keys, begin with learning how to read music if you don’t read yet, and find easy and fun songs to play to enjoy the instrument already. I can introduce you to the understanding of basic harmony and theory concepts to help understand better inside music that you are playing.
Intermediate:
We can get to improve the technique of the instrument, reading skills, get more precision, speed, sound and timing and musical expression. Advance the understanding of harmony, its beauty and its possibilities. If you like to work on improvisation we can get to discover how to enjoy improvising with all the technical tools you already learned in the past and enhance that material according to your taste. If you want to start with playing jazz music I can introduce you to first steps and nice and technically comfortable songs to begin with.
Advanced:
At an advanced level it’s very important to understand the direction you want to take and what you especially want to improve. However I can help you perfectionate sound and timing, rhythm, vibrato, etc..., work on the accuracy of the reading and at the same time make it sound musical and human. On jazz music and/or improvisation, expand the vocabulary for improvising, the knowledge of harmony, what you can do with the material you know from different perspectives, increase precision and sense of direction when phrasing lines, learn more jazz standards, help on original compositions. And of course share all the better understanding of jazz music I learned during my years in New York City.

Trumpet school in BrusselsNew trumpet school in Brussels whose teaching method is unique in Belgium.
It is based on the student's memory technique (visual, auditory, bodily). We are all different and it is not the pupil who must adapt to the pedagogical project but it is this one which must be thought according to him.
This method is also based on the flourishing of music. Our courses are not limited to the learning of the instrument as such, we place great emphasis on the assimilation of music by the body. For this we train the student in body rhythm and we include outings, among other sports, in our program.
The school's teachers are specialized in various fields: jazz, classical, instrument technique, improvisation technique,... which will allow the student to choose according to his desires and to meet his expectations. He will also benefit from personalized follow-up. Our courses are open to all levels.
It is the student who will determine his schedules with his teacher. This flexibility will give him great freedom in the organization of his schedule.
The school curriculum is spread over three years and will allow the student to acquire a knowledge of a large part of scales, rhythms, to develop his musical ear, a culture of the great moments of the music and to have a better knowledge of his body through the approach of rhythm and breathing.
The prospects sought by our school for the pupil is that he can quickly be confronted with the happiness of playing in a group.

With a long musical career on stage and as a composer, I am passionate about transmitting this universal language that is music. Although music transcends borders, it has its own codes and traditions, varying according to style. It brings together, it shares, and is transmitted as much orally as in writing.
As an eclectic musician, I express myself in both modern and traditional music. I am enthusiastic about the idea of sharing and transmitting what fascinates me above all else.

Jazz Saxophone & Applied Chord Theory - Personalized Classes (NL ; ENG)I focus on giving saxophone lessons to people with a solid or basic foundation who wants to improve or start improvising. This course is especially for those who feel stagnant in improving their music skills. I will actively analyse your areas for improvement and provide personal guidance and methods. I am very aware that each person thinks differently while improvising: personal exercises are given, depending on your needs.
Applied music theory lessons are a support of this class. I integrate chord theory into practical saxophone lessons, making a key connection between ear and theory.
I started playing classical saxophone, and I am currently a Jazz saxophone student at the conservatory of Brussels. Switching to Jazz made me analyse my own behaviour in improvising, which I find a crucial step in development.
Feel free to reach out!
I am also happy to give lessons to complete beginners or children as well.

Piano, music theory/harmony, jazz/classic, music readingExperience has taught me that it is very important to build a warm, trusting relationship with students, especially the very young ones. Bringing laughter, a sense of humour, games, and creating imaginative stories with music are my motives throughout the lesson.
The goals and character of each student guides the teaching approach I adopt - some students enjoy learning for the joy of music, whilst others prefer to aim for recognised qualifications or grades. In both cases I aim to make learning enjoyable.
I always encourage all my students, of whatever age or ability, to do some simple improvisation, and have developed several ways to facilitate this. I emphasise developing technique and music theory as they make the foundation of becoming a good musician throughout life.
