Hi everyone! I am Ellie from the UK and I have a bachelor's degree in Modern Languages from the University of Liverpool. I am living in Barcelona and would love to share my love for languages and language learning whilst I am here. I am experienced in tutoring English as a foreign language and am flexible with my approaches to learning in order to best suit the needs of the student! I am a high school English teacher from Australia with a decade of teaching experience. I have taught in Australia, England, and Chile and have recently moved to Barcelona. I am offering after-school tutoring in the subject of English (Language/Literature), whether it be in the British, IB, or American curriculum. (Based on my experience, they are all thankfully very similar!). I am passionate about the English language and have a Master in Writing and Publishing from RMIT in Melbourne, Australia. In my lessons, I always focus on both improving students' English grades and deepening students' appreciation for the English language. (The latter is more difficult than the former 🙃) I am happy to do lessons at my place in Gracia, online, or for an extra fee, at the student's house. This travel fee begins at €5 for Gracia and surroundings, and increases modestly for greater travel time.

All my lessons are created to be 100% adapted to your specific needs. I use the immersion method of teaching, which is an incredibly effective way to improve your level of English and fluency in the language. One main focus of my lessons is conversational fluency, where we will focus on pronunciation and practice speaking. From beginning to end, our classes will be filled with interesting conversations and activities, and we will only speak in English, about topics that you have chosen to discuss. My students have described my lessons as interesting, inspirational and motivating; this makes learning and using the English language easier and more rewarding.

We work together on optimizing your strengths and targeting your weaknesses. There is no long term commitment. Upon finishing 10 lessons, a detailed personalized learning plan is written for the individual which can be used to continue improving without an instructor.

I am a student studying a double degree in international relations in English and law. My classes are for school support and language reinforcement, especially in English. The intention is to give classes where the student learns in a dynamic and functional way.
