Over my 10 years of teaching experience both privately and through NYC music schools, I have developed a variety of effective and individualized teaching tools that I continually refine. My students range in age from 5-70 years and sing music in a variety of styles including classical, musical theater, pop, and more. I have helped hundreds of singers reach their personal goals which have ranged from matching pitch to winning competitions, getting the leading role in a show or putting together a solo recital to confidently performing at karaoke and achieving their personal best. For the first lesson, I always ask you bring something you like to sing and then as we progress we decide what repertoire makes the most sense. For many people improvisation is a scary word and having to improvise in a group or band is an alarming prospect. However, this really does not need to be the case. As long as you have a basic knowledge of how to play your instrument you will be able to improvise. Once you know the principle of how chords are formed you will soon be improvising with ease. If you play a keyboard instrument you will be able to improvise your own pieces and be able to entertain your friends at a moments notice.
