During my Dutch language lessons, I provide engaging and interactive sessions tailored to meet the needs of all learners, including children. I utilize various teaching methods, such as games, songs, and storytelling, to make the learning process enjoyable and effective. Whether you're a beginner or looking to improve your language skills, my lessons are flexible and adapted to your pace and learning style. Together, we'll embark on a journey to master the Dutch language in a fun and dynamic way!

Whether you're interested in developing your reading or writing skills, boosting your grammar, improving your pronunciation or just casual conversations in a foreign language, i've got you. First up we'll be discussing your expectations from these classes and I'll plan something from there on depending on your needs and aims. I use several methods which are specially conceived to teach Dutch to people who have a different mother tongue. I really like to use methods out of the ordinary like role games or methods with which you learn while playing. All these adapted to the student's situation of course. As I learned myself a couple of other languages, it is easy for me to detect difficulties a student can encounter and adapt the way of learning. I can teach in English, French, German and Russian.

My name is Paul and I am a Dutch and English teacher. I am originally from Antwerp - Belgium, where I also studied, but I have been living in Spain for a number of years. I have been a teacher for more than 10 years now, and I specialise in Dutch (and English) as a second language. I have worked for various Dutch (language) organisations, such as the Dutch school in Barcelona and the Dutch Language and Culture Foundation on the Costa Blanca. I have experience with almost all levels and ages, although most students are highly educated people who want to work in Belgium or the Netherlands, and want to learn the language in a short period of time. I also have experience with preparing for official exams and integration programmes. In recent years I have specialised in giving lessons online. This is particularly useful for students who don't have a lot of time, but still want to learn the language efficiently. I always offer a tailor-made lesson package – not everyone has the same needs and goals. Whether you already know some Dutch or have to start from zero, I'll make sure you'll start learning and using Dutch from the very first lesson!

In our class we will be relaxed, I will help you with the Dutch conversation, the grammar, reading (like an article or a topic what I will give you). I will help students for beginners-lower-intermediate level. After every lesson I will give you homework for the next lesson. Dutch is my native language. I can teach in English, French and German. I am retired and very flexible with my time. The language is native and has the courage to speak English. I have English and Dutch owners. I also speak French and German. I am reserved and flexible with my time.

A qualified language coach with 24 years of experience offers intensive Dutch lessons in a small class or online. I give many Dutch NT2 lessons to expats and in preparation for an integration exam. Specialized in guiding for the State Exam I and II. Special exam coach. In January 2025 I will also start with groups again. We have a great classroom in the center of Rotterdam, near metro station Beurs, lessons with small homogeneous groups (little difference in level). We mainly go for quality and not just running a lesson. I am really involved in the progress of the student. In addition to teaching, I want to do everything to really motivate students to take the next step. That is my strength! You can also choose the online lesson package with Whereby, Teams or Zoom in a comfortable way. Online classes are one-on-one or maximum one-on-two, for better results. Online lessons last 75 minutes once a week for 10 weeks to reach a higher level. This is the normal speed. Including exam training (A-2 or Staatsexamen) and exam at the end. Intensive training ? That can also be done in five to ten full days, I am used to giving these very intensive trainings to CEOs or managers who want it faster and more intensive ... all lessons within 3 or 4 weeks. Based on the European system A-1, A-2, B-1, B-2 and C-1 As soon as students want to further improve their knowledge of Dutch, I always advise and coach them to take the State Exam I or II, the only formal Certificate in this country, recognized by employers and universities. I will try to switch to conversation after a few lessons, to put your knowledge into practice as soon as possible. Don't get too caught up in the grammar. Teaching is my ultimate passion and even after 24 years it feels like the first time and students always feel inspired to overcome the obstacles. I also teach you about Dutch social culture, which is intertwined in the course and is strongly related to the language.

The most important thing for me is that we have fun while learning – that makes everything a lot more fun! In the lessons I am happy to help you with your questions about Dutch grammar and we can work together on your speaking, writing and/or listening skills. Do you have homework that you need help with? Teaching children is almost "an art" Not everyone is able to place him or herself in the mind of a child and that is just so important! I teach playfully and at the same time they learn without really realizing they are in a lesson! I do this with diverse lesson material such as pictures, video's, and we are also practicing songs together. Prepare in an efficient, intensive way for the ITNA (Interuniversity Language Test Dutch), based on tailor-made exercises. We practice together on language in use, grammar and vocabulary, gap texts, structuring exercises, dictation, presentations and argumentation. I tutor children at your home, at a location of your choice (max. 10 minutes travel time) or online (from about 12 years). I also teach Dutch: conversation, spelling, grammar, reading, NT2. I listen carefully to what you need and I adapt my lessons to that. I am a patient, flexible and friendly person and I like a bit of lightness in the lesson. As non-Dutch speaking parents, it is certainly not easy to teach your children Dutch or help them become more fluent in the new language. Who wants some extra exercise for their kids? I would like to help you with that. As their vocabulary expands and their sentences become more fluent, your children will become more confident. A good command of the Dutch language is certainly to their advantage, both now and in the future. Do your children need some help with their homework, especially with their Dutch, then I can help with that. Even as non-native-speaking adults, it is sometimes difficult to have enough exercise. That is why adults who want to make progress in speaking the Dutch language are welcome here! We can practice the everyday language together. Conversing is the best way to learn a new language.
