Introduction to the basics of sound engineering and recording

You will learn from me how to compose electronic music and produce tracks yourself. From the introduction to the world of electronic music production to advanced sound design tips, mixing and mastering, I can cater to your personal needs and goals and impart knowledge. I teach in Ableton Live. I can adapt my teaching style to the understanding of my students and respond to their needs. It is also important to me to create a positive and pleasant teaching atmosphere. In my lessons, students can benefit from my experience as a music producer, sound designer and DJ. Education: In the summer of 2022 I completed my Masters in Audio Design at the Musikakademie Basel. Before that I did my Bachelor in Audio Design (Composition / Music Theory) at the same place.

Learning piano is hard Especially if you don’t have a great teacher next to you, who will guide you and turn the struggles into fun, and the difficulties into exciting challenges! I’m an experienced jazz pianist, teacher and music producer, and whether you are an absolute beginner, or you want to know better how to play jazz, or you want to start producing your own music, I’m the person for you! It will be a great journey together, at the end of which you’ll be stable on your new musician feet, and most importantly, you’ll do it through a fascinating and progressive journey, tailor-made on your needs to have a learning slope that is just right for you. You will be able to learn the basics in French language like; greetings, introducing yourself, names of places, telling your tastes and preferences, learning the French alphabet, some vocabulary, grammar, verb conjugations etc.. With this knowledge, a person will be able to tell the name of a place, introduce themselves, sustain a basic conversation among other things.

Composing your own music has always been a very rewarding task. This has never been so true as the present day when you can hear what you compose instantly by using computers to generate and play back your own music. However, to ensure that your music sounds really great there are many principles to be considered. I have had a great interest in composing for over 40 years, composing in a wide variety of styles. Having been a music teacher in a comprehensive school for over 30 years, I have had a lot of very relevant experience in teaching composition to a wide range of different ages and abilities. The class will be personalized to your particular standard and chosen style of composition. If you are a complete novice and have not used computers to create music we can use a web-based programme or a free downloadable programme. On the other hand, if you are familiar with a particular programme that you have installed on your computer we can work through screen sharing and sound sharing to enhance your compositions using my experience. I will tailor-make the class to suit you.

For over 10 years I've tutored people of all ages and abilities in different musical fields. All from classical music to mixing your own pieces and songs. I am able to teach theory, composition and playing music from young children to adult syllabus study. I have Music and Music Technology qualifications and have been playing and writing music the majority of my life. My lessons are aimed at teaching a method that can allow student's autonomy in using Max/MSP programming language and the Gen/Gen~ environment. The neophyte can benefit from a practical method, which focuses on the constant exchange between theory and practice; the advanced student will benefit from the refinements of their practice in patch design. Ideally, the student will be able to be independent in some months. Students can expect partial covering of DSP topics for music. If needed, a specific lesson can be requested. Students are invited to present their works and patches, and can expect to discuss them in detail. Students are expected to be present for each scheduled class, not late, and to avoid a rude or disrespectful behavior. DISCLAIMER I am learning Dutch as for September 2024.
