Private lessons in Mathematics from a true mathematician
To jump straight to the point, I love mathematics. But, it didn't always come easy to me.
In third grade we were tested on the multiplication table and I received the lowest grade in my class. I still remember the shame I felt and I was asking myself how will I ever be good at this subject if I was already doing so poorly. Well, I am a walking example of it doesn't matter how you start, it only matters how you finish.
I am now a doctor in Mathematics (obtained my PhD from EPFL in 2022) with over five years of teaching experience ranging from primary school pupils to university students. My secret? I taught myself how to learn.
When people talk about mathematics they portray it as a mystical creature that is incomprehensible and untameable. In actuality, it is more like legos. With each bit of new knowledge you gain, you get to build these magnificent worlds of concepts, theorems and operations.
I would love to build some lego structures with you. I am very passionate about my work and I have the patience and dedication to help you conquer any challenge you may face.
As tutoring is such an individualistic practice, it will be tailored to you and your needs. The first lesson will be an introduction to one another and a way for me to familiarise myself with your math knowledge and issues. We will then decide on a tutoring plan and set goals. I am very flexible and my main priority is that you receive the support you need.
If this sounds good to you, do not hesitate to get in touch.
P.S.: I currently teach in English but I am actively working on my German competencies.

About Me
Simply put, I am a mathematician at heart. The moment I realised that mathematics was nothing to be scared about, but rather a tool one can use to build understanding of the world around us, I feel in love with it.My mission is to demystify mathematics and to show everyone that they too can be great at maths. The most common problem I see is that students do not understand how things 'work'. I structure my teaching in a way in which this doesn't occur, by emphasising precision, attention to detail and tailoring the speed and the difficulty to the capabilities of the student.
Education
Postdoc in Mathematics at University of Birmingham, December 2022.PhD in Mathematics from EPFL, May 2022.
Masters in Applied Mathematics from Babes-Bolyai University, June 2016.
Bachelors in Mathematics from University of Bucharest, June 2014.
Experience / Qualifications
For four years I worked as a teaching assistant in the Mathematics department at EPFL. My main goal was to insure that students felt supported in their journey of learning mathematics, that all of their questions were answered and that they felt comfortable in their knowledge to undertake any challenge.I also offered private tutoring between my master and doctoral studies. During this time I helped high school students prepare for their semestrial examination, as well as for the Bacalaureat exam.

Computer and Math's Lesson for High School Students.I am a first-year Master's student of Informatics (Data Science) at UZH, with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science. If you are facing any sort of difficulty in Maths or Computer Science, or if you want to improve your grades and have a better understanding, I am available for help. I had taught pre-calculus, algebra, and calculus to high school students and always tried to ensure that they improve their grades and I am glad to tell you that I am succeeded in that. My way of teaching is that to come to the lowest level I can while explaining a topic, For example explaining a topic like I am lower to the level of the student. I learned this technique due to all the experience of teaching and I found it quite amazing and working when it comes to conveying the knowledge.
I am fluent in English.

MSc in Physics at ETH teaches Maths and Physics for High School and UniversityI strongly believe in getting the needed theoretical background before tackling the problems. However, I try to explain theory by providing examples/solving problems. Physics and maths are not complicated subjects! You just need to approach them in the correct way.

Private online mathematics lessons - Qualified and experienced teacherI am a qualified and experienced mathematics tutor. Graduated from the Free University of Brussels in 2011, I started my career by teaching remedial courses in different schools in Brussels. I then specialized in individual academic support by following educational training at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. I have been giving private mathematics lessons daily for over ten years.
The students who follow my private lessons benefit from personalized support. The first session is devoted to an in-depth assessment of the student's mathematical knowledge. The objective is to detect its weak points and understand their origin in order to adapt my courses to its needs. I develop a tailor-made remediation program for each of my students aimed at filling each of their gaps. Over the course of the sessions, the student builds a solid foundation for learning and regains self-confidence. At the same time, I help him acquire a work methodology that allows him to gradually become autonomous in his studies.
I have a perfect knowledge of the mathematics program of the College and the High School (from the Sixth to the Terminale). During my formative years, I studied and developed many techniques that make it easier to learn math. The strength of my pedagogical approach lies in my ability to explain in a simple way everything that the student finds complicated. I am passionate about this job because it gives me the opportunity to guide dropout students on the path to success. It is a real pleasure to see them evolve and come to terms with the fantastic world of mathematics.
I provide my private lessons in Limoges (at the student's home) or remotely (online via the internet). My distance learning courses take place on an interactive online whiteboard. This board is specially designed to promote student/teacher interaction on the internet. Thanks to this educational tool, my online courses are as effective as home courses. The student only needs an internet connection and a computer, tablet, or smartphone to take advantage of it.

Math support courses for high school students (Science Maths, Science Exp, Letters ...)As a teaching professional, I have always enjoyed sharing my knowledge. My goal is to provide quality education. I am aware that some topics may seem complex, but often this is simply the result of an inadequate explanation by the teacher. With me, you will discover a real interest in the material!
We strive together to achieve academic excellence, overcoming the shortcomings and difficulties encountered by your child. Studies will become a pleasant experience for him. In addition to the courses, I can also help with school orientation, identifying their preferences and highlighting the advantages and benefits of a fulfilling educational ambition.
The sessions generally take place according to the following stages:
1️⃣ The first sessions are devoted to the assessment of the student's level in order to detect existing gaps.
2️⃣ Next, we create a personalized plan to address these gaps, including the number of hours of work needed, specific areas to focus on, and appropriate training and development exercises.
3️⃣ We stay in constant contact with the student's class teacher, to keep up to date with the latest requirements and ensure a consistent approach.
4️⃣ Subsequently, I provide exams similar to those that are likely to be asked in class, to prepare the student effectively.
5️⃣ Upon request, I write a regular report, usually monthly, to keep parents informed of their child's progress throughout their course.
I adapt my methodology according to the specific needs of each student, thus offering them a personalized and adapted work approach.
In addition, I offer crash courses for students preparing for the start of the school year, allowing them to start the year well prepared, with a solid lead on the school curriculum.
If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact me. I will be happy to help you.
