Music Graduate from The University of Cambridge with a Masters from The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. I have experience teaching all levels of academic music. In particular, I specialise in tutoring Grades 1-5 Music Theory (ABSRM), Primary School Level and Secondary School Level up to Music GCSE. I cover the fundamentals of reading music notation, and I will tailor my lessons to the syllabus and student's requirements, whilst ensuring the lessons are enjoyable and rewarding. I enjoy teaching both children and adults, and believe learning the foundations of music theory will hugely assist practical performance, and develop confidence and musicianship.

In all my years in music, Music theory is what has allowed me to be able to play many instruments after getting the technical part down in a very short time and that has allowed me to do some of my accompanist job throughout the years. Dear students: My name is Denise and I'm a professional singer with a singing master's degree from Catalonia's Music College (ESMUC) specialized in Historical Singing, Musicology and Music Education. My experience runs mostly in early and classical music with an active performing life, nevertheless I also have the experience and knowledge of popular musical styles such as Latin-American folk, jazz and musicals. As a docent or vocal coach I've collaborate with different academic institutions and private artistic projects, focusing mostly on international students or social integration programs. I have years of experience teaching children, teenagers and adults in both Latin-America and Europe, therefore understanding different appreciation levels and needs. For me it is very important to make music from the first lesson, because there must be a balance between technical practice and its application in small melodies or musical pieces. The theory of everything tends to be really scary and music theory can be too. I am very keen to make music theory easy for everyone. For some people there is only one way to tackle the unmentionable but I believe there are many different approaches and one of them will click with you. It is simply finding out what is best for each person. Once we find the key we can unlock the problems that have puzzled you for ages. Music theory needs to be more than a requirement, it needs to be the way to really appreciate the music you are playing.
