AQA / Edexcel / OCR AMIT B.Sc., PGDCA, AET. A-Levels Specialist Teacher I am 51 years old, an experienced teacher of Science (First class graduate) with specialisation in Chemistry & Maths. I have over 20 years experience of teaching GCSE/A-Level (13 years in the UK, London & 12 years in India, New Delhi). I have taught in several schools of West London, Surrey & Berkshire and now expertise in 1 - 2 - 1 tutoring. Start from the basics, fill the gaps in your knowledge, have a good foundation and then move on to the advanced concepts is the fundamental idea. There is a big jump from GCSE to AS- Level standard. Many pupils, who have secured high grades in GCSE plan to leave promising subjects like maths & chemistry just after a few months of studying in the sixth form. My question is: What is the reason?? Very simple pupils are not ready for this transition to sixth form. Parents & pupils, please have a word before making any decision. From 2014 onwards, Examinations are now based on the annual system, so you will not have that many chances to repeat & improve your grades, as it used to be in the past. Prepare thoroughly and then sit in exams, honestly, it will be a very good rewarding experience. Please collect past year exam papers, relevant text books and an aim & then come to me that is all I am looking for. Future belongs to those who prepare for it rather blaming the luck now is the right time to prepare for 2021 exams. GIVE IT ONCE & MAKE IT HAPPEN should be the motto. Please note chemistry is a very important subject if you are seeking career in the fields like medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, forensic sciences, defence, nursing, chemist, etc.
