I am a student in the second year of a Bachelor of Mathematics at EPFL. In high school I participated in tutoring freshmen twice. It was a question of helping them to organize themselves, and of giving them support lessons in scientific subjects. I also helped friends in economics to progress in math. One of them intended to give up the subject and regained a taste for it when he understood how to go about it. (It went from 5/20 to 18/20) I consider it important to restore the self-confidence of students in difficulty. In addition, my goal during a course is to guide the student towards understanding without chewing on the work because the satisfaction of the work accomplished allows the students to take a liking to the work and therefore to really make them progress.
