I think it is important to keep a lesson pace that suits the student. So that the student feels comfortable and continues to enjoy learning. I cover the practical and theoretical basis (think of scales and note reading, for example), but there is also room for the more fun side of playing the piano. Think of learning the pop songs or classical pieces that you like!
