Folk or classical acoustic guitar. The teaching philosophy is adapted to the level of each individual, according to the pace of work and motivation. For example, for beginners: Technique of the plectrum or fingers, coordination and correction of the right and left hand. Learning basic chords, simple themes, simple rhythms, reading tablatures (...). For intermediaries: development of rhythm, construction of chords, writing of tablatures, basic notions of harmony (...). Hello! My name is Mario and I am a 26 years old professional pianist and orchestra conductor. I am currently taking a master degree in the world famous conducting class of Professor Johannes Schlaefli and Christoph Mathias Müller at the Zhdk, Zürcher Hochschule der Künste. I hold two bachelor degrees, one in classical piano performance and the other in orchestra conducting, both from The Norwegian Academy of music in Oslo. More than 8 years of university high education in total. I also have plenty of experience teaching and I taught in Norway for 6 years in the public education system. I am trained in Willems musical pedagogy, and teach early learning, musical initiation grades 1 to 3, solfege and the first years of violin. The 5 string banjo is an amazing instrument. It's driving trademark sound and it's African roots has contributed to many music traditions, including Country, Bluegrass, Blues, Jazz and world music. In my class you'll first learn the basics, how to hold and pick and read tablatures. We'll then go through how to play a tune, accompany other instruments and finally, improvise. During the year I'll teach you basic music theory like rhythm, harmony and a bit of ear training to help you develop your understanding and relationship to the instrument. We'll mainly play Bluegrass Scruggs style at first, then we'll dive into melodic style and sigle string, that will all be useful for playing other kinds of music, like Irish music, Pop, Jazz or Blues. Student at the Lausanne music school, I offer guitar, bass or saxophone lessons.
