Tai chi is an ancient Chinese practice often described as a form of "moving meditation", immediately recognizable by its supple and graceful movements.
But Tai chi is also an authentic and genuine martial art enabling one to reclaim one's body, often mishandled by the working life, so as to restore harmony with the mind.
From my own experience as a practitioner and student of tai-chi for years in Fribourg and Bern, I have designed this course from the idea that, instead of learning tai-chi, one might be better served by learning how to teach oneself tai-chi. For me this means:
- to become aware of one's body and to know how to "listen to it"
- to discover one's strengths (often underestimated)
- to overcome one's limitations (sometimes mental, often overestimated)
- to develop self-confidence on the way to fulfillment.
In this course, entirely focused on you, we will visit several essential movements, techniques and forms of the Tai chi and Qi Gong traditions (Qi Gong is a practice germane to Tai chi and that offers good preparatory exercises), at the pace that suits you best.
If you are a beginner, we will try to give you a solid foundation to build upon, so that you can continue your practice according to your own aspirations -- be it by yourself, in a group or in a club or school.
If you already have experience practising Tai Chi, we will build on what you have learned to develop your practice in a direction that allows you to reach your full potential.
