Hello there, ever since I was a teenager I have always admired musicians in small and gigantic stages alike, and have wondered how such marvelous magic could possibly be created from their fingertips. If you are reading this, then maybe you feel the same way towards the piano as I do! I can offer myself to explore with you, with my experiences coming from jazz piano playing, how it works on the piano: basic playing skills, chords and how to voice them, playing solo lines, harmonic knowledge to write your own song, learning to read a lead sheet with only melody and chords, and so many more. Here are some of the goals that you and I can work together to make it happen: 1) Learn to play your favorite tunes on piano or electric piano 2) Learn to accompany yourself while you are singing 3) Learn to play in a band setting 4) Learn to write and play your own songs 5) Learn the keyboard skills for your home production gears (i.e. MIDI keyboard controllers) 6) Learn to improvise on the piano Now, a little bit about myself; the moment I decided that I should try for music came much later compared to my colleagues. I started very late, and thus had to come up with methods of teaching myself fast and efficiently. And I believe that my own experiences coming from the struggles I've had could be of help to you, to understand the task at the hand better and to come up with plans on how to handle them. Hi, I'm Sterre! In 2024 I got my bachelor's degree in classical piano at the conservatory in Rotterdam. I'm currently doing my master's degree at the Prins Claus Conservatory in Groningen. I regularly give concerts, besides that I also really enjoy giving piano lessons to children and adults who are motivated to learn to play this instrument! I give piano lessons in Groningen. My passion for playing the piano started when I was 11 years old. I was staying with a friend who had a piano. At first I wasn't very interested, but by chance I had a piano app on my phone that allowed you to play the easy version of Für Elise and other pieces. Because I thought it would be more fun to play on a real piano, I sat down at it. I enjoyed it so much that I played the piano the rest of the day! Later I got a piano myself. I taught myself to read notes and the theory around it. I progressed very quickly, because within a year I was accepted to the preparatory course of the conservatory in Rotterdam. (Havo/Vwo for music and dance.) When I finished the preparatory course I continued with the Bachelor at the Rotterdam conservatory. At the moment I am studying in the first year of my Master. Piano lessons: First we discuss your goals with each other to see where you want to grow towards. I then adapt my lessons accordingly. Furthermore, I find it important to focus the lessons on the basic principles of piano playing. Notation, rhythmic skills and a good body and hand position. In addition, I find it very important to teach expression and musicality. But the most important thing is to have fun playing the piano! Anyone can learn to play the piano! From the age of 5 I also give piano lessons to children. I teach in a playful way to keep it interesting for children. I work with a nice lesson book with nice assignments and clear explanations.

Hello! I’m Roser, a flutist and piccolist currently living in Groningen. I graduated from my bachelor on 2023 in Conservatori Superior de Música “Mestre Tàrrega” in Castelló, Spain. In 2023 I moved to Groningen to start my master studies at Prince Claus Conservatorium. During my bachelor in Spain I worked as a flute and music theory teacher in three elementary music schools and I have complemented my experience with courses in pedagogical strategies. The lessons will be fully adapted to each student and their musical interests or goals. For me it is very important that you can learn all the technical aspects of the flute but also that you can enjoy and express yourself playing the music you like the most.

I am a Spanish pianist and composer (MMus graduate from Codarts Rotterdam in both directions) with many years of teaching experience, and also very active in performing in various contexts. I give private piano lessons for all levels and styles (classical, jazz, Latin, new age, pop...), as well as music theory, composition and improvisation lessons. My lessons are distinguished by their dynamics, practical approach and adaptation to the needs and interests of the student.
