At the time I was a diligent student but quite mediocre in music theory. I simply didn't understand the method that was dictated to us in Musical Training class. This actually favors children with perfect pitch, and those who do not have it remain behind. What a pity ! But I was passionate and so I looked for other ways to develop my listening skills. I studied Indian music, I followed the teachings of American, German, Swiss teachers... And finally by practicing ancient music, I discovered ancient music theory. The latter is the one which provides the real bases from which all Western music arises. Counterpoint and harmony, everything became clearer to me. Dear students: My name is Denise and I'm a professional singer with a singing master's degree from Catalonia's Music College (ESMUC) specialized in Historical Singing, Musicology and Music Education. My experience runs mostly in early and classical music with an active performing life, nevertheless I also have the experience and knowledge of popular musical styles such as Latin-American folk, jazz and musicals.
