My name is Abraham, and I’m a third year jazz piano student at Codarts Rotterdam. I have been playing for 14 years, most of which were spent in classical music. I teach all levels and styles (classical, pop, jazz, etc.). It can be with or without theory, depending on what you prefer. With more than 200 students through all my life, more than 500 shows (mostly in Spain but also around Europe and a couple of minitours in America), 15 CD’s/EP/singles published (as a frontman, sideman and producer), a bachelor in jazz-modern music guitar (Taller de Músics - Barcelona), half bachelor in piano jazz (Conservatori del Liceu - Barcelona) and a long professional music career behind me playing a ton of different styles (pop, rock, funk, metal, jazz, folk, rumba, reggae...), I’ve come from Barcelona to Rotterdam to continue my musical journey by doing the latin master at Codarts. I teach guitar (electric and classical), piano (electric and classical), composition, musical production (with Logic Pro), ensemble and modern music theory AT ALL LEVELS, from 100% beginners to people who want to prepare themselves for the music bachelor. I can adapt totally to what the student wants and is looking for, but also, since I have a lot of experience, I have the lessons well planned, I know which songs and exercises work better depending on the aspect that we want to work (tempo, chords, scales, sound, improvisation...) and when I see someone playing I can see in which aspects is the person strong, and in which aspects has the person more problems, so that way you won’t waste your time! Also I’m a fun and very empathic person so we will have fun, which is the most important thing!! I speak 5 languages 100% fluently: Catalan, Spanish, Portuguese, French and English, so we can do the classes in one of these languages, and I’m working on my Dutch, I have an intermediate level and I think I could do lessons in it, but probably I would have to switch to English if the topic is a little difficult, I hope that changes in a few weeks/months, I’m studying every day! The trombone, trumpet or piano seem hard instruments to learn, but with the right approach it's a fun and enjoyable process filled with small tasks that will make you improve and have fun at the same time. The same goes with music theory and composition; the classes are structured in a way that you wont feel overwhelmed with too much information because the goals and method will be set based on your level and needs. Hello! My name is Karolina and I am a professional singer, as well as an upcoming music therapist. I studied Jazz Music at Prins Claus Conservatorium in Groningen and at the moment I am completing my Master studies in Music Therapy at the ArtEZ Conservatorium in Enschede, The Netherlands. I also hold a degree of the Orff Approach (Orff Schulwerk), a developmental approach used in music education, which combines music, movement, and speech and it is a great approach for children 4-8 years old. I specialize in jazz and Brazilian repertoire, but I also teach Greek folk singing. The lessons are designed according to the needs of each student. Some of the focusing areas are listed below: 1. Vocal Technique: We focus on vocal technique elements such as breath control, vocal range, the use of all registers, and timbres of your voice. The goal is to sing effortlessly. With 20 years of experience as a guitar teacher and as a professional musician, I like to pass on my passion for the guitar to others. I teach at all levels; from beginners to advanced, and specialize in jazz, flamenco, classical, bossa nova, rock, funk and metal. I am currently attending the PhD in the University of Evora (Pt) in Music and Musicology, specialization in Performance. I have experience in teaching and I play in several bands. During the lessons, we can be focusing on more subjects and we'll learn several styles such as Jazz Latin, pop, blues, rock, and funk, adapting to your need. Short Musical Biography Born and raised in Iran, Khorshid grew up in an artistic family. When she was seven years old she started her musical journey playing setar with her father. After entering the Conservatory of Tehran she chose Tar. Tanbour was another dimension in her exploration. For her playing, all these instruments happened so naturally. She was just sixteen when she started her professional activities playing with Shams ensemble. During those years she played all around Iran and other countries such as France, Italy, Austria, Morocco, Sweden, Netherlands. She has been teaching from the age of seventeen. After she got her Bachelor from the Conservatory of Tehran, her curiosity led her to Netherlands and got her Master degree at the World Music Department of Codarts Conservatory of Rotterdam Codarts. During her study at Codarts she learned playing Baglama in Turkish department. When I teach, apart from teaching the technique of the instrument is so important to me, I also help them to understand and have more awareness about music and be able to perform all their musical ideas in a successful way. I analyze the student in order to choose which is the best approach in order to motivate him or her. Tar To become a professional Tar player is important for me to have a good technique. I teach all different schools of Tar players by giving repertories and etudes. I also teach about Dastgahi music and in advance level how to improvise based on Dastgahi and Modal music. Setar As this instrument is so delicate is important for me to be aware about every notes you play and in order to reach this point you learn from me proper technique. I teach you Dastgahi music by playing Radif Dastgahi. In advance level we also play together more to learn improvisation. Tanbour As a performer of Tanbour, Sonority is so important to touch the ear. I teach you unique techniques of tanbour with my own method. By playing different compositions and etudes you learn Makams of Tanbour. In the advance level I mostly concentrate on improvisation. Baglama I teach you the basic techniques of this instrument and we play together different repertories of regions in Turkey consist of Anatolian music and Ottoman Music.

Hey there! My name is Yorgos and I am a guitar performer and instructor. Originating from Greece I embarked on musical journey to the Netherlands because of its reach musical scene. For the past eleven years I have been pursuing my musical career in the city of Rotterdam and have been teaching in various musical styles and ages. At the age of fourteen, I picked up a guitar, and two decades later, it feels like an extension of my soul. With over twenty years of experience strumming and shaping melodies, I’ve spent eleven of those years sharing my passion as a private instructor and performer. My musical journey has led me to teach a diverse range of students—from seven-year-olds to adults—covering everything from the pop and blues to the soulful depths of rock, jazz, funk, and folk. During my studies at the Royal Conservatory I learned the how work with the basics of the Kodaly solmisation system and In addition I taught ensemble lessons at the International School of The Hague. Further on, I got the opportunity to develop my knowledge on music theory, and gained experience with rhythmic, melodic solfège and sightreading. These are topics I always like to include in my lessons, because I find them very important not only for the personal growth of each musician, but also for the deeper connection they create between the musician and the instrument. Finally, even though I like incorporating all the elements mentioned above into my lessons I foremost focus on tailoring the lessons around the needs of every student and helping in any way I can their growth of musical curiosity. You could find very fun and interesting excercies for improving your coordination while learing intriguing drum beats!But also...you are a fan of progressive music but you're having troubles playing that weird odd-meter...I'll show you how simple and easy can be to play that 5/8! Do you have a solid rhythmic fundation and you want to get in touch with Jazz or Latin music? Learning a language, especially if you are not a mother-tongue, is very hard. Generally I believe that to learn how to express yourself through your instrument is a life-long learning process. We can listening to recordings and to check how the drummer accompanies his band mates, how he expresses his solo ideas. We can transcribe comping ideas, solo ideas, and of course I'll show the approach I use to learn and to digest this information to make it mine. As a cello teacher, I always try to pass on my passion for music to my students. Of course, they will learn how to read sheet music and all the other technical aspects of playing the cello. However, most importantly, they will also be able to choose what pieces they want to play. Each part of the lesson is also about making music together, for example by playing in a duet. This way, students can develop their playing skills with others.

I'm a multi-instrumentalist, I provide classes a variety of instruments in different musical styles (jazz, pop, world music, classical). I can also teach music theory and solfege (how to read and write music). I always try to engage my students by focusing on what they really want to learn.
