In this course, I will teach you the first steps to start playing classical piano. We will begin to do some hand placement exercises, scales, arpeggios and different exercises and then begin to play simple works, which will become more complicated over time. The duration of the classes in principle is 1 hour. If you would like less or more time, we can manage it. In principle the classes are taught in my studio, but everything could be discussed. Depending on the area I could move.

My name is Marina, I am from Malaga, I have been playing the violin since I was 4 years old and I would love to be able to transmit my passion for it to you. I am currently studying my 2nd year of Higher Education in Barcelona and I have worked with beginner students previously. I can also teach musical language reinforcement classes. Mi formación incluye el Grado Profesional de Piano, estudios en canto y composición moderna, y actualmente curso un Máster en Management y Producción Musical en la ESMUC (Escuela Superior de Música de Cataluña). He obtenido la titulación de Maestría en Piano en el Conservatori del Liceu (Barcelona), y cuento con muchos años de experiencia dando clases tanto a niños y a jóvenes como a adultos. Musical language classes (Harmony, Literacy, Rhythm, Auditory Training) for school reinforcement or self-interest. Classes will focus on each student's preferred areas of musical language, and practical exercises will be continuously performed on the student's instrument. Additionally, Music Composition classes are offered, in genres such as classical music, jazz and music for audiovisuals and computer-assisted music.

I always try to adapt to the interests and needs of each student and with all kinds of repertoire: Mozart, Bach, John Lennon, Richard Clayderman, Imagine Dragons... There is music for all tastes! I receive students who are just curious to try the instrument to people with a clearer goal, any level is welcome. I am passionate about pedagogy and I believe that when starting to study an instrument the most important thing is the posture, the individual study method and the motivation for the instrument. I teach for all levels, from children starting from zero to students who want to prepare certifications at the Conservatories, passing through amateurs or simply curious of any age. I firmly believe in the importance of knowing how to read music and this is exactly what I teach first, obviously adapting the method to the age of my students: knowing how to read music is knowing one more language, which, if learned well, won’t ever be forgotten (like riding a bicycle!) and it is an invaluable wealth. Starting from that point I teach the position of the hand, the arm and the whole body at the piano, the fundamentals of the piano technique (giving great importance to the percussive movement of the finger and the distribution of weight), the understanding of musical language, the expression of the personality through the keyboard, the search for touch and knowledge of piano repertoire.
