I specialise in contemporary styles (anything from the last 100 years), and have found many of my students typically are: - Young children, who's parents are looking for a teacher who is more interested in flexibility and helping the child become inspired and self-motivated, rather than crushed by overly academic and strict teaching. - Adults who feel like their childhood instrumental learning has left them with large gaps in their knowledge and ability, particularly when it comes to improvisation and playing music without sheet music. - Learners who are interested in developing their musicianship, and curious about, but also a bit scared by JAZZ. - Learners who are interested in recording music, and want advice on both music and professional goals and the industry. I am happy to teach grades, but have a strong teaching philosophy that focuses around more specifically tailored learning paths that focus on giving the student the tools needed to become self-sufficient playing and creating music, whether it be to relax at home, play with others, or write songs. About me: I am currently completing my Level 4 Music Educator certificate from Trinity College, and have been fully teaching professionally for just over two years, since finishing my studies. As a trumpeter, I have played on European tours with various bands, played on great stages such as The Royal Festival Hall, Bath Forum, and at Glastonbury Festival. I also have my own band, LYLE!, in which I sing, play keyboards, play trumpet, and write and produce all of the music, as well as playing and performing with many different bands across the UK.

I have been playing trumpet for more than 15 years and I am excited to share my passion and show others the fantastic sound of the trumpet. In the past when I was still living in Portugal (my home country), I have been a trumpet teacher for musicians of all ages. Additionally, I have experience in orchestra playing such as Radio Filharmonisch Orkest, NJO (Nationaal Jeugdorkest), and Limburg Jeugd Orkest. I am passionate about classical music, however, I am open to working with any music style, like Jazz, Pop, or Baroque. Before coming to the Netherlands, I graduated from the ESMAE (Escola Superior de Música e Artes do Espetáculo) in Porto, Portugal. During my career, I have been working with musicians such as Floris Onstweder, Benny Wiame, Kevin Wauldron, Telmo Barbosa, and Carlos Leite. I also did a masterclass with musicians like Reinhold Friedrich, Jeroen Berwaerts, Charles Schlueter, Gábor Tarkövi, Fábio Brum, Clément Saunier, and Andrei Kavalinski. My goal as your teacher is to give you the main tools to play trumpet and expose you to the various aspects of trumpet performance. I can teach you about aspects like style, tone quality, endurance, and musical phrasing. I am also happy to help you with any aspects of music theory if the student is interested in doing so. I will help you understand concepts such as keys and meter signatures. I am also willing to help you prepare for possible entrance exams to music schools or Conservatoriums. FR/SP My name is Sebastián, Argentine trumpeter, trombonist and composer based in Basel. Since I was 18 years old I am working as a professional musician. I have worked in many educational institutions, such as EMC (School of Contemporary Music) Berklee International Network as Professor of Trumpet, jazz ensemble, and musical notation, in “Orquesta Juvenil del Sur,” an orchestra for underprivileged children, as a trumpet teacher at St Andrew's Scots School and as a private teacher. Apart from my teaching experience I was selected to participate in the renowned Focusyear Basel program along with seven international musicians at Jazzcampus Basel during 2020/2021 and after the end of the program I decided to start a master in composition in the same institution. Already the first year I had the honor of being chosen to arrange music for the wind ensemble of the prestigious MIT University (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) and also to write original music for the Jazzcampus Big Band. I graduated from the Jazz career of the Manuel de Falla Superior Conservatory of the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina and I received an Honorable Mention from the National Endowment for the Arts from Argentina in Unpublished music in the Jazz category and I also released my first album released by the Chicago label, United States Ears & Eyes Records. In 2019 I was chosen as revelation musician by the Argentine media "El Intruso". I am also working as a producer recording in my home studio.
