Private piano lessons (jazz and improvised music)
Translated by Google. Click to view original.
As a former professional musician, I offer private piano lessons. My specialty lies in teaching jazz, blues and improvised music. However, I also work with classical music and all other styles, depending on the objectives of my students. My pedagogical approach is based on a natural method of learning music. We start with listening and playing, then gradually integrate the reading of notes, respecting everyone's rhythm. With this method, students are able to play from the first lesson. Part of the course is dedicated to group practice, with instruments such as piano, double bass and drums.
Classes take place in our private room located at Porte d'Orléans. In addition to individual lessons, we offer ensemble lessons for interested students, as well as the possibility of participating in our choir.
Do not hesitate to contact me to find out more. I can't wait to play music with you!

Claude, pianist - bassist - author - composer - performer - arranger - producerA career bassist, Claude has accompanied various bands around the world: Louisiana Red, Champion Jack Dupree, John Thomas, Francisco Zumaque, Lou Blackburn, Nina Simone...
His meeting with Art Blakey and Dorothy Donegan encouraged him to reconnect with his first instrumental love: the piano.
He studied in several conservatories, then at the Bill Evans Piano Academy where he studied Harmony with Bernard Maury while accompanying him on the double bass during his masterclasses.
Today, Claude is perfected at the jazz piano, he goes to meet the culture of world music to offer you his deep, intense, voluptuous compositions, and draws his rhythmic strength from his African origins.
Arranger and studio musician, he composes lyrics, writes arrangements on bass and keyboard, and performs them in jazz, rap and pop groups alike.

Today is in cooperation with dj producers for studio recording projects. Occasionally works as a bar pianist.
As a former professional bass player who accompanied various groups around the world (Louisiana Red, Champion Jack Dupree, John Thomas, Francisco Zumaque, Lou Blackburn, among others), I offer private jazz bass and double bass lessons.
With nearly twenty years of experience in the music industry, I specialized in teaching music, particularly in the fields of jazz, blues and improvised music. I adopt a natural method of learning music that emphasizes listening and playing. Gradually, we introduce the reading of notes according to the rhythm of each student.
Thanks to this approach, students are able to play from the first lesson. The last part of each session is devoted to practice through group play sessions (piano, double bass, drums).
Classes take place in our private room located at Porte d'Orléans. In addition to individual lessons, we offer ensemble lessons for interested students, as well as the possibility of participating in our choir.
Do not hesitate to contact me for more information. I look forward to sharing the music with you.

Piano lessons for beginners and/or intermediate level (video or at home)Depending on the support, the course will be structured in different ways.
If we follow a tutorial on YouTube, the advice will be more oriented towards the positioning of the hands and fingers, the nuances to be achieved and the anticipation of the notes.
If you choose a more traditional paper format instead, we can find the sheet music for the pieces you want to learn.
In both cases, the basics of music theory will be reworked.
I have been playing the piano for 20 years now and I also studied music theory for 5 years.
Giorgia
Piano lessons - music theory and harmony - for any levelI teach for all levels, from children starting from zero to students who want to prepare certifications at the Conservatories, passing through amateurs or simply curious of any age.
I firmly believe in the importance of knowing how to read music and this is exactly what I teach first, obviously adapting the method to the age of my students: knowing how to read music is knowing one more language, which, if learned well, won’t ever be forgotten (like riding a bicycle!) and it is an invaluable wealth. Starting from that point I teach the position of the hand, the arm and the whole body at the piano, the fundamentals of the piano technique (giving great importance to the percussive movement of the finger and the distribution of weight), the understanding of musical language, the expression of the personality through the keyboard, the search for touch and knowledge of piano repertoire.

Philadelphia/Online Study Piano With Concert Pianist and Yale GraduateI am a concert pianist currently living in Philadelphia! I am proud to have more than 20 awards from international piano competitions. If you want to read my artistic bio and read about the awards, and hear me play, please check my website. I am originally from Russia, and for the last two years I have lived in Europe. I’m back in the states in Summer 2024.
Here is my story: I started out as a jazz pianist but began dedicating myself to classical music around the age of 14. Two years later I was accepted to the prestigious Central Music School at the Moscow Conservatory. I lived in Russia until the age of 18, and even back then I had major success in international piano competitions. I moved to the US to study with a Van Cliburn Gold medalist under a full scholarship at Park University. I later got my Master’s in piano performance at Yale University. While in the US, I played all over the country and won close to ten international piano competitions. During the past two years I have lived in Germany, where I tried to absorb as much experience as possible about the German piano tradition. I am a U.S. green card holder now.
My strategy is to teach you to practice as efficiently as possible. Most people are wasting their time practicing the instrument, then get frustrated and eventually abandon it. I will show you how to make your practicing meaningful. The goal is to make it easier and more enjoyable, not harder. I would describe my approach as hands-on, but I am willing to give students as much freedom as they choose. I often ask my students to send me a video recording of their performance so that we can track progress and discuss our goals and objectives together. I send a detailed lesson summary and practice instructions at the end of every lesson. I try to be polite but straightforward.
My job is to encourage you but also be clear about what is getting in your way. I am a perfectionist and encourage my students to push the bar as high as is possible at the moment.
Although I have experience as a jazz pianist, my formal training is as a classical pianist and I prefer to offer only classical music lessons, yet the repertoire can range from early baroque to the most recent contemporary.
Wishing you my musical best,
Simon

Piano / Music Theory Lessons for All Levels - Recent Graduate of the Geneva Conservatory of MusicGeneva - Lausanne - Morges
Courses in English, French, Italian (native languages) - German (European level B2)
As a graduate of the Geneva Conservatory of Music, I offer with great enthusiasm, excellent methodology, and a strong desire to share my passion, piano and music theory lessons for all levels.
Having completed 12 years of studies in Piano and Music Theory, as well as courses in Musical Training and Sight-Reading, I want to introduce this extraordinary instrument to both beginners and advanced students with the same passion that my teachers (including Sodi Braide, who studied at the Paris National Conservatory of Music (CNSM), and Stéphanie Aubert) used to bring me to my current level—performing in major concerts and competitions with first prize at the CMG.
As a mechanical engineering student at EPFL, I can adapt the lessons in a fun yet rigorous way, to captivate young beginners. At the same time, my background allows me to expand and deepen the pianistic knowledge of advanced pianists.
I look forward to sharing my passion with you!
