I have a Bachelors and Masters Degree in violin performance from the Eastman School of Music and am currently playing in an ensemble academy in Frankfurt. I have around 10 years of teaching experience using the Suzuki method as well as other method books. I have taught many students from age 3 through adults at all levels. I adapt my teaching to the needs of each individual student and make sure that my students are learning about music theory, note reading, and music history as well.

Knowledge of solfège or music theory is not required, we can always discuss this in class if you wish, but that is certainly not mandatory ;) I have been playing the guitar since I was 9 years old and for several years now I have been playing in professional bands with which I have been able to play on sugar rock, for example. The theory of everything tends to be really scary and music theory can be too. I am very keen to make music theory easy for everyone. For some people there is only one way to tackle the unmentionable but I believe there are many different approaches and one of them will click with you. It is simply finding out what is best for each person. Once we find the key we can unlock the problems that have puzzled you for ages. Music theory needs to be more than a requirement, it needs to be the way to really appreciate the music you are playing. Certain aspects can also lead to additional practical skills such as improvisation which can be very useful as well as very enjoyable.
