A fully qualified Maths Teacher & English tutor with over 10 years teaching experience, I have an enriched and effective set of pedagogies and take great pride in my teaching styles. I believe the three main attributes that makes a fantastic teacher are a passion for the subject, a great sense of humour and consistent high expectations of all students regardless of their circumstances or starting points.I have a great desire in working with young people of diverse backgrounds and helping them to reach their academic potential. Like any Teacher, I break down my tutoring sessions typically 1 hour; into a starter activity, main teaching, tutee work and plenary to assess progress. Unlike the school setting or tuition centres, my tutees have my full uninterrupted attention to their needs in learning. They deserve nothing short of this when seeking a private 1-1 education! I will first assess how much of a certain topic they know and then plan my session from this information. Homework is set after tuition for further independent work and then marked with quality feedback to the tutee. I have a progress checklist that I sign off once they have successfully achieved a certain level. My tutees are given a copy for their own records. However Parents and tutees are more than welcome to make suggestions they feel is best for their progress and I will be happy to adapt. Furthermore, all teaching resources will be provided free of charge. Please note rates are variable subject to a few factors such as journey times, distances and quantity of students being tutored per session. However with the exception of primary education, I offer one standard rate for all key stages. I strongly feel that my rate is highly competitive in comparison to other tutors on a like for like comparison.
