I suggest dividing the course into two parts. First of all by reviewing the course and dealing with application exercises to ensure good mastery of the concepts, then moving on to standard and in-depth exercises. The time spent on each of these parts depends of course on the student's abilities. I also suggest reviewing the assessments and exercises done in class.
